So-called Korean handmade hamburger price and taste

Hello, everyone. Today I want to introduce Korean hamburger. This is so-called Korean handmade hamburger. You will the price and taste of it. Now here in Korea, hamburger is one of the most popular foods. There are many burger brands here in Korea such as Burger King, Macdonalds, Lotteria. There are major brands of hamburger business. There are also many other brands, too. Today, I visited NEW YORK BURGER near my office. This is the restaurant which sells so-called handmade hamburger. I will let you know the price and taste.

 

This is one branch of NEW YORK BURGER. I can see some braches of this restaurant here in Daegu city, too. This branch is very near my office. I sometimes visit here and have burgers for lunch. Compared with another burger restaurants, this is not expensive, that is why I sometimes visit here.

 

We can have so-called handmade burger here. I think the expression of handmade burger is Konglish, Korean English expression. Even here in Korea, some people say handmade burger, the other people say, All burgers are made by hands. Who makes burgers with feet. But the reason that people use this expression, handmade is to distinguish their burgers from the burgers of major brands like BURGERKING, McDONALDS. They usually think those burgers are fast food like making it in the factory. HANDMADE means slowly making, cooking with better quality. That is as far as I understand.

 

So-called handmade burgers are more expensive here in Korea. But NEWYORK BURGER is not that expensive. There are menus for morning guests. The burger price is very cheap 2,900 won (2.4 USD). Combo is only 3,900 won (3.25 USD). Combo means burger and coffee. I can have one burger and coffee with only 3.25 USD.

 

 

You can dine in and take out, too. The restaurant is not that big but cozy and clean. I like to eat burger in the restaurant. The price of NEWYORK BURGER is 4,600 won (3.8 USD).

 

 

If you want one set (burger, drink, potato fries), its price is 7,600 won (6.3 USD). Barbeque burger is cheaper, 3,900 won (3.25 USD). Double steak burger is a bit expensive here. The price is 6,400 won (5.3 USD).

 

There is a child menu. They call it kid's pack. The price is 6,500 won (5.4 USD). This pack has one beef bulgogi burger, one cheese stick and one drink. People can enjoy burgers with kids, too. The price is reasonable, I guess.

 

 

We can see very fresh vegetables in the restaurant. There is one sheet of paper that says as below.

 

1. We cook right away after you order.

2. We provide refrigerated patties, never frozen.

3. We use fresh vegetables.

4. We do our best for sell healthy handmade burger.

 

I ordered one NEWYORK BURGER set. It has potato fries, one burger and drink. I could choose zero sugar coke. The price is 7,600 won (6.3 USD). If I buy them separately, I should pay more. But I can have them all as I order one set. 

 

 

I like potato fries. I sometimes eat this only for snack. It tastes so good with tomato ketchup. The potate fries were very freshly fried. This size is big and very delicious. There is a special space for putting tomato ketchup on the paper. It say, "Tomato ketchup here, NEWYORK BURGER considering your health."

 

This is NEWYORK BURGER. So-called handmade burger. The patty is never frozen, refrigerated. After they get an order, they starts grilling right away. Buns are not speciall, I think, just plain buns. Other food ingredients are tomato, lettuce, onion, cheese.

 

Everything is so fresh and I enjoyed it very much. It's not super delicious but still enjoyable. There are so many so-called handmade hamburger brands here in Korea. Some are expensive and some not that expensive. When you visit Korea, it will be a good memory if you try this kind of handmade hamburger. Any brand is Okay, they havey their won specialty and taste.
