Have you ever heard of Korean sweet and sour pork? As you know, there are so many Chinese restaurants in Korea. It's everywhere. Korean people love to eat Chinese foods such as Jajangmyun, Jjampong, Tangsuyuk. They say Tangsuyuk is Korean sweet and sour pork as we translate it into English. In Tangsuyuk, "Tang" means sugar, "Su" means venigar and "Yuk" means meat. Literally, its taste is sweet and sour. Here I introduce, Korean sweet and sour pork.

Before I introduce this food, you should know GUOBAOROU. Guobaorou is a chinese food which is very similar with Korean sweet and sour pork. Guobaorou is, they say, deep-fried chicken in hot pepper sauce. I ate it in China and Korean, too. It is also very enjoyable but I like Korean sweet and sour pork better. When you visit Korea, you can find it very easily and must try it in one Chinese restaurant in Korea.

One day, I visited one Chinese restaurant near my house. There are dozens of Chinese restaurant in my town. You can have lots of Chinese foods like Jajangmyun, Jjampong. If you live in Korea, you can order what you want and have it in your house with delivery service. Even when you are in the park or beach, you can order chinese food by smart phone application. They deliver food everywhere.

Here is the menu. You can see price of each food. Jajangmyun is 6,000 won(5 USD). Jjampong is 8,000 won(6.7 USD). I thinng this price is almost same wherever you are in Korea. The price of Korean sweet and sour pork depends on the size. Mini Korean sweet and sour pork is 13,000 won (11 USD), small 18,000 won(15 USD), medium (19 USD). This time, I ordered mini size Korean sweet and sour pork.

This is Korean sweet and sour pork called Tangsuyuk in Korea. It is very popular food in Korea and everybody loves it. When you visit any Chinese restaurant in Korea, you can see many people eating this. It goes very well with Jajangmyun and Jjampong. It's a kind of rule for Korean people to order this food as there are more than 2 people to order things in Chinese restaurant.

People call this Korean sweet and sour pork as they translate Tangsuyuk in English but I want to call it, Korean style fried pork. When the cook makes this food, they dip pork in dough and fry it. It's not complicated, very simple. Some restaurants use sticky rice for this food. In that case, it's very chewy.

When we have Tangsuyuk, we have sauce, too. Some people pour sauce on fried pork and some dip fired pork in sauce. There are two ways to enjoy this. We call it Jikmeok and Bumeok. Jik means dipping, Bu means pour, Meok means eat. When you learn Korean culutre, you surely will hear about this. Anyway, you must experience this food when you visit in Korea.

This food is fried rice of Chinese style. You also can have this in Chinese restaurant. I like this food as well. Fried rice is served with Jjang sauce(Black bean sauce). When you mix them together, its taste is much better. Chinese style fried rice needs more cooking oil and it makes food a bit oily but still tastes good.

When they serve fried rice, they also give Jjampong soup. It is a little spicy and has many ingredients such as squid, pork, onion, cabbage, etc. I like this soup so much, too. Especially, when it goes with fried rice, it tastes very good. Chinese foods in Korea is another Korean culture in Korea. When you visit Korea, Jajangmyun, Jjampong, Tangsuyuk are the foods you must try.
